POWT Station lies in rural southern Vermont between the beautiful villages of Grafton and Townshend. It stands in a pasture next to our farmhouse, which was built in 1810 and is surrounded by over 100 acres of wildness. Our woods are full of maple, hemlock, and ash trees, and quite a few bears. The land comes steeply down from ridge tops at 1600' elevation to the South Fork of Saxtons River. Besides the bears, other neighbors include turkey, deer, foxes, moose, raptors and songbirds, and some really nice people.
